Bracken challenge set once more - 20-11-2009

In the words of a well known song “Oh what a night”. Friday 20th November saw 65 Cub Scout leaders meet at Witney Lakes resort to battle for the Bracken Challenge, something which had not been compeBracken_Challenge.jpgted for in a decade.

The competition took the form of a quiz with rounds on such subjects as General Knowledge, musical intros and food. There was an amazing show of knowledge and enthusiasm. Leaders will not be looked at in the same light again as they pitted their wits against one another for the fabulous prizes and the trophy.

In the end the victorious team was from West Oxfordshire winning by 6 points from South Chiltern with joint thirds being one of the King Alfred teams and Oxford Spires.

We were very pleased that Eileen Bracken was able to come and present the trophy and we hope she will join us next year when we are going to vary the competition and mix the mind games with some physical challenges.

The raffle saw us able to donate £59 to both “Children in Need” and the Jamboree Contingent
