First Aid Courses

The Scout Association strongly recommends that all adults in Scouting with a leader, manager or supporter appointment hold a current First Response certificate or equivalent at all times

Whilst everyone is encouraged to maintain their qualification at all times, the certificate must be valid at the issue of the Wood Badge and for appointment renewal

To book onto these sessions click on the course date & fill in the form 


First Response Course

This 6 hour course will provide the minimum standard of First Aid knowledge required, and validation of training module 10 for those people working towards the Wood Badge

The certificate is valid for a maximum of 3 years

Qualifications gained outside Scouting are also accepted and can be used for module 10 validation

Tues 20th & 27th March 2012 (both evenings) 6.45pm for 7pm - 10pm at Youlbury Scout Activity Centre ...this course is now full

Weds 18th & 25th April 2012 (both evenings) 6.46pm for 7pm - 10pm at Youlbury Scout Activity Centre

Mon 14th & 21st May 2012 (both evenings) 6.45pm for 7pm - 10pm (venue to be announced later)

There will be a minimum of 8 participants and a maximum of 12 on these courses

First Response Renewal Evening

A 3 hour refresher that renews your First Response qualification for 3 years. It must be done before your current qualification expires. You may renew your qualification twice before repeating the full course or an external equivalent.

There will be a minimum of 8 participants and a maximum of 12 allowed

Full First Aid Certificate (British Red Cross Practical First Aid)

A 14 hour course over 2 days

Sat 17th + Sun 18th November 2012 8.45am for 9am - 5pm at 22nd Oxford HQ

There will be a minimum of 8 participants and a maximum of 12 on these courses
