In Oxfordshire we pride ourselves on the number of international opportunities we offer our young people.
International activities and international understanding are an integral part of Scouting.
Our relationships with Scouts and other organisations throughout the world lead to better understanding of people and issues. The UK Scout Association is part of a worldwide movement; there are Scout Associations in 216 countries and territories, and we are all members of the World Organisation of Scout Movements (WOSM).
What better way to fulfil the aim of Scouting and the challenge set by our Founder to 'leave the world a little better than you found it?' Scouts can and do make a difference. Have a go!

Norway 2018: Applications are open for an exciting opportunity for Scouts and Explorer Scouts. Would you like to camp in northern Norway, 200 miles north of the Arctic Circle and explore Lofoten and Andoya? The expedition to Norway will take place between 21st to 28th July 2018 and we are looking for Scouts and Explorer Scouts to join this Expedition. Following completion of the application form Scouts and Explorer Scouts will need to attend a selection camp on the weekend of 1st/2nd April 2017. Successful applicants will then be given a space on the Expedition
Applications are also open for a limited number of Adult Volunteer spaces too.

We are delighted that 23 Scouts, Explorers and Network are taking part in a very exciting opportunity. In July 2017 Oxfordshire Scouts will travel to Kenya to take part in a volunteer community project and Safari.
The 14 Day trip will be organised by Oxfordshire Scouts and supported by The Nasio Trust, an Oxfordshire based charity which supports communities in Western Kenya to break the cycle of poverty by providing education, improving health and developing commerce. The Nasio Trust have been taking young people to Kenya since 2004. Provided during this trip are 3 meals a day, bottled water, all accommodation. Along with the Support, guidance and 24hour emergency back up from local staff. The trip activities in which you will be participating are challenging and will require a good level of fitness, strength and endurance. It will possibly comprise physical activity involving working for approximately 5 hours per day. The work will also involve extremes of high temperature and it is your responsibility to ensure that you have the appropriate level of fitness in time for the trip.
Trip dates: Week beginning Monday 24th July – Returning week beginning 7th August 2017
We hope to include in our itinerary:
Travel by coach from Oxfordshire to Heathrow Airport, Fly to Nairobi, Kenya
Travel by Local Domestic flights to Nasio Projects in Musanda & Mumias
10 Day community based work helping on the farms, digging, planting and harvesting veg.
The chance to meet and camp with Kenyan Scouts to exchange skills and knowledge.
A team of Scout Leaders has been formed to lead the trip. They have been chosen for their experience, knowledge and enthusiasm for International Scouting and Scouting activities they also hold relevant permits for these activities.
