Aqua Camp 2016 - Now Fully Booked
2016 is the year Beavers are 30 years old!
We are delighted to offer Explorer Scouts in Oxfordshire a very exciting opportunity. In August 2017 Oxfordshire Explorer Scouts will travel to Kenya and take part in a Nasio Trust Project in Western Kenya. The trip is open to Scouts & Explorers aged 14.5 years+ in August 2017
The 14 day trip will be organised by Oxfordshire Scouts and supported by The Nasio Trust. You can find out about the work of the Oxfordshire Charity by visiting their website http://www.thenasiotrust.org/
The Nasio Trust is experienced in working with local schools. But this expedition will be fine-tuned and geared towards Scouting. In particular the activities undertaken after the 10 days of helping the Nasio Trust in one of their projects.
It is anticipated that the Unit will be formed of 20 Explorer Scouts and 4 Leaders
We are now inviting applications from Scouts, Explorers, Young Leaders and Scout Network members who would like to take part in this amazing opportunity. Click here to download the information and application pack.
We are running an indoor climbing course for Oxfordshire Explorers that will run from January to July 2016.
The course will run on alternate Tuesday evenings during term time, and will be delivered primarily at the Oxford Brookes University climbing wall in Headington, Oxford.
There will be four additional weekend sessions; in the Spring term, there will be 2 half day trips arranged to larger indoor climbing venues, and after Easter, there will be two all day trips to climb outside on real rock.

Over the weekend, six teams of Explorers and Networkers from across the County competed for the RaidOx Trophy, an Oxford-based scavenger hunt now in its seventh year. With the questions and challenges released at 7pm on Friday, the bulk of the entries have to be submitted in person by 2pm on Sunday, resulting in some 36 hours of frenzied activity before the final meet up. By then, various and varied challenges will have been recorded, filmed, created and uploaded.
Abingdon ESU were ultimately victorious, but competition was stiff this year, particularly in the cake-making department!
