Cub Scouting Skills Event - 30th September

On 30th September 2017, we will be running a Scouting Skills Fun Day competition for the County’s Cub Scouts at the Headquarters of 24th Abingdon Scout Group in Dry Sandford.
The day will run from 10.00 until 16.30 and Cubs will need to bring a packed lunch with them.
During the day, the Cub Scouts will compete in Teams of six in a number of Physical, Mental and Skill challenges which will all contribute to a score at the end of the day. The main event, in which all Cub Scouts can participate, will be the “Scouting Skills Assault Course” featuring over 250’ of inflatable obstacles as well as races, challenges of scouting skills, mental tests and more.
Packs are invited to submit one, or more, team(s) of six to compete on the day. The configuration of the six is up to individual leaders, but there must be a Sixer or Team Leader designated. If you have less than six Cubs looking to take part you may combine with another local pack, but that will be up to you to organise. Only teams of six can be booked. The cost for the day is £10 per Cub Scout. Please note that at least one Cub Leader or Occasional Helper will need to attend with each of their Sixes on the event and the Adult(s) will likely be “recruited” into helping run the activities during the day.
Please complete the attached booking form, and then post it, together with a cheque payment for all Cubs attending, to the Event Treasurer whose address is indicated therein. There is no requirement to name the Cubs attending now, but this information must be provided no later than 8th September 2017.
There are maximum numbers that we can accommodate for this event and so bookings will be taken on a first come, first served basis and we will advise when the maximum number for the day has been reached.
On receipt of a completed booking form and cheque (payable to OCSC) for the correct amount for those attending, we will confirm that you have a secured a spot for your six, or sixes. We will also advise Leaders of some skills that they might want to “refresh” with their Cubs in the lead up to the event.
Please note that the closing date for receipt of all booking forms is 8th September 2017 if the maximum number of Cubs hasn’t been reached prior to this. If you have any queries or questions about the event, please do not hesitate
