Explorer scouts

This course is aimed at all those interested in supervising young people undertaking DofE expeditions in Scouting and elsewhere and looks at the roles adults play in the Expedition Section.  It does not provide training in campcraft, route planning and navigation - attendees should already be competent in those areas to get the most from the course.

The DofE's Expedition Assessor Accreditation Scheme (EAAS) is the national training route to becoming an accredited Expedition Assessor. The purpose of the EAAS is to provide the preparation and training needed to undertake expedition assessments.

To join the course after registration you will need to complete the application form and have it reviewed by your DofE Manager (Jo Hawtin for Oxfordshire Scouting). There is also some pre-course online learning which must be completed before the course.

RaidOx – 24th - 26th November 2017

It is a free to enter event for all units and networks in Oxfordshire. The question sheet will be sent out at 7 pm on Friday evening and you have until 2 pm Sunday to finish them (although some of the filming questions will need to be submitted for marking before!).

As ever, dressing-up, filming scenes with the public and using plenty of imagination are the theme, but to get an even better idea of what to expect, download the previous year’s questions from the Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/140471589289/files/

and view some of the videos from my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvO10A6ivos&t=154s or if you really have plenty of time on your hands: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DsKeXxhzGg&t=127s

Put the date in your calendars now so you don't miss out! Further details will be revealed after the summer holidays and to sign up or for any questions in the meantime please message Mike Suggate at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
