Oxfordshire Scouts run regular safeguarding workshops to ensure our volunteers are aware of The Scout Association's Child Protection Policy "Young People First" and their role in implementing it.

We run training and workshops for both new leaders, and regular updates for current leaders.

Module 8 - Skills of Leadership

In this session we will cover the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to be an effective leader, including leadership styles, action-centred leadership and developing leadership skills in others.

Module 9 - Working with adults

In this session we will cover some key skills required to work effectively as a team, including communication, listening skills, decision-making structures and effectively representing others.

Module 11 - Administration

In this session, we will provide information and best practice on how to manage administrative tasks in Scouting, including responsibilities relating to the Data Protection Act, record keeping, finances and insurance requirements.
