Winter Mountaineering Weekend, Lake District
The County Winter Mountaineering Trip provides an opportunity to try hill walking in winter conditions (weather permitting of course!). The weekend is open to Explorers, Network and leaders, and is suitable for you whether you're a complete winter novice or more experienced walker. This is also an ideal trip to look at developing your group leadership skills or even to be assessed for a permit. We can provide ice axes and crampons - you just need decent waterproofs and boots.
For 2018, we're going back to our traditional base at Patterdale YHA. The cost of £35 includes two nights' bed and breakfast; for dinner on Saturday night you can chose to visit one of the many local fine dining establishments or you can choose to take dinner with us for an extra £5. Bedding is provided but you will need to bring your own towel, and packed lunches for both days. Note that transport is not included: we will organise lifts and/or minibuses at cost, as required.
CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS: 10th DECEMBER 2017
